We have implemented initiatives to introduce state-of-art fintech and other financing technologies to the next generation through financial education for high-school and university students.
The state of specific initiatives is as follows.
-
Financial and Economic Education for Elementary School Students at Keio NEOBANK
As part of our activities on sustainability, we have collaborated with Keio Electric Railway Co., Ltd. and Keio Passport Club Co., Ltd., who jointly offer 'Keio NEOBANK,' to conduct a 'Financial Seminar for Children' targeting elementary school students living along the Keio Line. Through fun activities like the 'Foreign Currency Quiz,' where students learn foreign currencies, and the 'High and Low Game,' which encourages them to think about the value of money through comparing jobs and experiences, we provided opportunities to spark interest in finance. We aim to continue these efforts in partnership with 'NEOBANK®' service affiliates to enhance financial literacy for many people. -
Support for Career Education for Elementary and Junior High School Students
As part of our activities on sustainability, we have decided to co-sponsor the career education material “Oshigoto Nenkan” published by the Asahi Shimbun Company and the Asahi Gakusei Shimbun Company starting from 2023.
Our company's page in this educational material is titled “'Is there really a bank with a branch called 'Strawberry'?”. It introduces the major banking transactions available on smartphones, online banking services, security, and other information. Additionally, it includes a teaching plan for financial and economic education using our pages as an example of how to use this teaching material.
Our objective is to provide elementary and junior high school students, as well as many other readers, with an opportunity to deepen their interest in online banking and to enhance their understanding of how to manage household finances and asset formation using the Internet. -
Ongoing Efforts in Financial and Economic Education for High School Students
As part of our activities on sustainability, we develop and provide teaching materials for financial and economic education for high school students. We offer these materials and teaching plans completely free of charge to teachers, thereby reducing their burden when introducing new teaching materials and creating opportunities to conduct original financial and economic education classes.
Since the start of 2019, we have provided these materials to over 41,000 students. This year marks the sixth consecutive year that we have offered this program to high schools across the country. -
